Cloudera, the data and AI platform provider offering cloud capabilities anywhere, has announced the acquisition of Taikun, a specialist in Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure management across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. The acquisition strengthens Cloudera’s ability to deploy its full platform – including AI and Data Services – consistently across public cloud, on-premises, sovereign, and air-gapped systems using a single control plane.
As enterprises face increasingly distributed and complex IT landscapes, reliable infrastructure is essential to support critical business functions and the rapidly expanding demands of artificial intelligence. By integrating Taikun’s advanced Kubernetes orchestration capabilities, Cloudera can now deliver a streamlined and agile experience across all environments.

As part of the acquisition, Taikun’s engineering team will join Cloudera’s Engineering, Product, and Support organization, bringing deep technical expertise in Kubernetes. Additionally, Taikun, based in the Czech Republic, will be a new European development hub for Cloudera, reinforcing its commitment to innovation across the region.

This marks Cloudera’s third strategic acquisition in just 14 months, following the purchase of Verta’s operational AI platform in May 2024 and Octopai’s data lineage and catalog solution in November 2024.
