HPE (NYSE: HPE), in collaboration with AMD and alfanar, has announced the introduction of two new ‘Saudi Made’ HPE ProLiant servers — the DL365 and DL385 Gen11 — powered by 5th Gen AMD EPYC™ processors. The launch was celebrated at the alfanar production facility in Riyadh, where the first AMD-powered server rolled off the production line, marking a pivotal milestone for localised tech manufacturing.
Designed to accelerate performance and security, the latest additions to the ‘Saudi Made’ compute portfolio deliver greater flexibility, speed, and efficiency for data analytics, real-time insights, and evolving enterprise workloads. Bearing the ‘Saudi Tech’ quality mark, the servers are available immediately in Saudi Arabia, as well as in Jordan, Egypt, and the Gulf region.
Mohammad Alrehaili, Managing Director for Middle East at HPE, stated:
“We’re delighted to celebrate this major milestone together with our partners AMD and alfanar as we further expand our portfolio of ‘Saudi Made’ servers. We’ve seen an unprecedented demand for robust digital infrastructure and compute capabilities in the Middle East, driven by key strategic investments and frameworks such as Saudi Vision 2030 and technological advancements like AI. This new server offering, leveraging the latest AMD EPYC processors, directly addresses this demand, delivering predictable high performance at scale while helping ensure rock-solid data security at every level.”
The DL365 and DL385 Gen11 servers build on the successful launch of last year’s HPE ProLiant ‘Saudi Made’ line, which earned the National Product Certificate. Equipped with 4th and 5th Gen AMD EPYC™ processors, they deliver higher processing power, increased memory capacity, and scalable storage options, ensuring optimised performance for data-driven applications.
Zaid Ghattas, General Manager for Middle East, Türkiye and Africa at AMD, said:
“AMD EPYC CPUs provide the energy efficiency and performance leadership required to help power the infrastructure that will support Saudi Arabia’s comprehensive digital growth strategy. AMD is proud to work with HPE on this initiative and committed to serving our customers in Saudi Arabia as well as the broader Middle East region.”
HPE and AMD are also launching specialised training programmes aimed at advancing the technical capabilities of the predominantly female Saudi workforce, supporting local talent development and innovation-driven growth.
Markus Grabmeier, Vice President, alfanar Electric, noted:
“We are proud to support this expansion of the HPE ‘Saudi Made’ server portfolio, further strengthening not only our own production capabilities, but also our joint contributions to the growing tech ecosystem within the Kingdom. This milestone reflects our continued commitment to advancing technological expertise and fostering female talent in the Kingdom.”
